Thanks for clicking on my link! So I guess you want to know a little bit more about me...

I grew up on old victrola records, learning classics from the greats of the golden era. My mom was (and is still) a singer and pianist- she would teach us standards and old Baptist hymns as she played her spinet. After going through piano lessons and flute lessons early in life, it was evident I probably wasn't destined to be an instrumentalist. I sang in choirs, and took every opportunity I could to be a soloist. Later I was mentored by an influential teacher who saw great promise in me as an opera singer. He taught me the basic Italian arias and sent me off to audition for a performing arts high school. After my acceptance to the school, I began studying under a Chinese opera singer, Xiao Lun Chen, a Master's graduate from Eastman School of Music. In my senior recital, I performed 8 songs in French, English, German and Italian; the pinnacle of performing career to date, LOL.

After endeavoring to make a career of opera and finding that I had a a low-level of tolerance for the politics of the art, I decided rock and roll was the way for me. I got myself a 60's re-issue Fender Strat, a little amp, and a tall blond who played a Precision Bass. Jeremy taught me how to play a few basic chords and we were off! We picked out L7 and Concrete Blonde tunes and tried to write our own songs… I quickly learned how poor my imitation of Donita Sparks was- and that I would never have that "punky-edge" to my voice. The collaboration didn't last but my love of performing did. Earlier this year I was involved in a project with a gifted guitarist and bassist. Another project that wasn't meant to be... I still love to write songs and sing everyday but desperately need gifted musicians to help show me the way...

So now after years of enjoying previous incarnations of this band and the original tunes written by Marni and Jeremy, I am proud to be part of this crew, eager to chip in and make Furnace everything we are capable of being. I hope that you’ll come out and see us often.

You can send me an email using the link at the top of the page - of course I'd love to hear from you!
